Burger King shows noble gesture: ask customers to order from KFC

The unprecedented pandemic reflected the true value of not just individuals but also of popular brands. Recently Burger King expressed camaraderie for the fellow fast-food giants and small firms by a tweet that went viral. In the tweet, Burger King urges its customers to order from KFC, Subway, Domino’s Pizza, …….or any other independent food outlets. Further, they say that they never thought they would be asking customers to do this, however, this is to help “restaurants employing thousands of staff”….who… “really need you to support at the moment”. 

A Keralite in the New Zealand Cabinet

Priyanca Radhakrishnan of Indian Origin, and with roots in Kerala, has been inducted as Minister by Prime Minister Jacinda Arden of New Zealand. Born as the daughter of Raman Radhakrishnan and Usha from Paravoor in Kerala, her great grandfather was active in left politics in Kerala. Most of her relatives are in Chennai, where she was born. Priyanca grew up in Singapore and went to New Zealand for higher studies. She is MP for the second term. She has been working for the women survivors of domestic violence; and for migrant workers who are exploited.

UAE Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum gets Coronavirus vaccine shot

The Prime Minister of United Arab Emirates, and the ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, tweeted that he received a shot of the Covid-19 vaccine. He tweeted a picture of him being administered the vaccine by a medical worker wearing complete PPE kit. He wrote “…..We wish everyone safety and great health, and we are proud of our teams who have worked relentlessly to make the vaccine available in the UAE. The future will always be better in the UAE.” The vaccine, in the third and final stage of the clinical trial, is being developed by a Chinese company and is being given to other top officials of UAE.

Actor Faraaz Khan dies at 46

Faraaz Khan died today at a hospital in Bengaluru due to a Neurological disorder. Son of the yesteryear actor Yusuf Khan, Faraaz Khan acted in movies like Mehendi and Fareb. According to reports, he was suffering from cough and infection for the past one year and hospitalised since October 8th. His brother Farmaan Khan and Pooja Bhatt requested to raise fund to meet the hospital expense. Later Pooja Bhatt tweeted that Salman Khan has paid all the expense. Farmaan has rushed to Bengaluru for the last rites.
